August Project-2

This is my very last creation for the Cuttlebug blog. I made the sun green, I know it is unusual, but yellow didn't go with the colors. I embossed the sun with my Cuttlebug and the Seeing Spots embossing folder, then sanded it. You may notice the outlining I did with the black pen...the key is to do that before you emboss it, that way you aren't drawing over the bumps! I layered the sun over the patterned paper which is from the Mango Luau line by Bo Bunny.....I love the colors. I layered some paper circles I found with a flower and a bling brad and used green ric-a-rac for the stem and leaves. I hope you all like it and thanks for taking the time to look :)

August Project-1

Hi everyone! August is my last month doing the Cuttlebug Blog :( It will be someone else's turn to show off their creativity! I had fun designing for them....they will be looking for a new team so if any of you are interested, hop on over to the blog and apply.

The first project I did for this month is board shorts. I have made this card several times before for my classes using different papers. Here I used Bo Bunny's paper line called Mango Luau. The sticker border at the waistband of the shorts is also from the same line. I cut out the flower by hand and embossed it with my Cuttlebug and the Seeing Spots embossing folder. The center of the flower is a sticker and the leaves that frame it are pre-embossed paper leaves from Bazzil.

AUGUST CHALLENGE

The theme for August is summer vacation/ splish splash over at the Cuttlebug Blog. I came up with this card.....I like unusual shapes! I used the paper line from Bo Bunny called "Mango Luau". The embossing folder I used was "Seeing Spots" from Cuttlebug and the paper leaves are from Bazzill. I embossed the green paper, which is from Coredinations, then sanded it to get the aged effect. I also embossed the orange flower with the same folder, but didn't sand it. I edged everything with brown ink which I always do because I think It adds a nice finish to each piece. Go on over to the Cuttlebug Blog to see all the designer creations!!

July Project-2

Here is my second project for July. Again I used the Sew American Stripe patterned paper from Bo Bunny. I also used the Velvet Blue Jean paper from them, cut out a large star and stitched it with white floss. I added Ladybug red brads at each point...also from Bo Bunny. I cut rings from tan paper using the Cuttlebug die set, CIRCLE FRAMES. Then I added some red wire with white beads , curling it to resemble fireworks! Thanks for looking :)

July Project-1

Here is my first project for July. I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder ALLEGRO to emboss the music on the red paper. Then I sanded it for the effect. The patterned paper I used was Sew American Stripe from Bo Bunny. The velvet paper is also from Bo Bunny, it is called Velvet Blue Jean. I cut the stars out by hand from this paper. The rings were cut from red paper using the Cuttlebug die set called CIRCLE FRAMES. I layered the stars, rings and brads and used them to embellish the front of the card and hide the seam. Check out the other DT projects over at the Cuttlebug Blog :)

JULY'S CHALLENGE- Happy 4th Banner

Over at the Cuttlebug Blog we have a new challenge for the month of July. Here's what I came up with...a banner to celebrate the 4th of July. I used Bo Bunny paper ( Sew American Stripe) and their velvet paper ( Crushed Velvet Blue Jean). I also used the Herringbone embossing folder from Cuttlebug to emboss the letters, H A P P Y. The dangling rings between the banner triangles were cut from the die set also from Cuttlebug ( Circle Frames).

I tied the triangles together with ribbon, white and red ric-a-rac. I added detail with a white gel pen to the letters before I embossed them, and also to the tan triangles. I cut the blue velvet stars out by hand and pieced the whole thing together. Hope you like how it came out...thanks for looking!

June Project-2

Here is my second project for the Cuttlebug Blog. It is always hard for me to come up with masculine cards, I like to embellish with flowers and ribbons! But...buttons are a goog choice for both masculine or feminine. For this card, I used the Herringbone embossing folder from Cuttlebug to add interest and texture to the white strip on my card. I then inked the edges....which I always do :) I also did the same to the brown semi-circle. The papers I used are from Bo Bunny and the card stock is from SU! and Bazzill. Check out all the ideas over at the Cuttlebug Blog!

June Project-1

The theme for this month is "Fathers" over at the Cuttlebug Blog. Here is my first project...a father's day card. I used Bo Bunny papers and two of my favorite Cuttlebug embossing folders, Swiss Dots and Herringbone. The Swiss dots I used on the star with Coredinations paper called Maplenut. After I embossed it, I sanded it to bring out the yellow core. The Herringbone I used on the white strip and inked just the edges. I really likr the texture that dry embossing adds to a project. Thanks for looking :)

May Project-2

This is my second creation for the Cuttlebug Blog for May's projects. Our theme is still Mothers, so I made another Mother's Day card.... and yes I know Mother's Day is past :) I like this design, I think I will use it in one of my upcoming classes.

I used my Bloom Dots embossing folder to emboss the blue border, and I used my Textile and Swiss Dots folders for the flowers. The Blue border was rubbed with a tan ink pad to bring out the raised image. I assembled the flowers with blue brads. The stamp is from Stampin' Up!, and the paper is Flutter from Bo Bunny. You can check out all the designs over at the Cuttlebug Blog....thank you for checking out my blog :)

JUNE'S CHALLENGE

For the month of June over at the Cuttlebug Blog, our theme is Fathers. I came up with this gift bag for my son to give to his dad on Father's Day. I used an old paper bag with handles that I had saved and tucked away. I covered the front with patterned papers from Bo Bunny (Roughin' It Stripe) & ( Roughin' It Dots). I used my Cuttlebug die ( Harlequin) to cut out the diamonds and my Cuttlebug embossing folder ( Herringbone) to emboss the shapes. The paper I used was a color core paper from Cordinations ( Maplenut) that I lightly sanded to bring out the yellow core. I love the effect it gives! I tied ribbons to the handles...just a few...I didn't want it to feel girlie. I made a tag and tied it on with the ribbons, a button, and a couple of stamps, and viola! Hope you like it....you can check out all the inspiration over at the Cuttlebug blog! Thanks for checking out my blog :)

May Project-1

For my first MOM project, I wanted to do a card for my mom for Mother's Day. I used my Cuttlebug and two embossing folders. The yellow scalloped strip was embossed with the Mosaic folder and the leaves were embossed with the Swiss Dots folder. I also embossed the blue scalloped circle with the Swiss Dots, and the sanded for the white effect. I found some alphabet stamps that looked like the swiss dots, so I stamped MOM in brown ink. The butterfly is a Quickutz die, and I cut the leaves out by hand. The flower and scalloped circle are punches...the cute little stick pin is from Maya Road. Thanks for stopping by :)

SPRING IN COLOR

This is my next class @ Cool Scrapbook Stuff in Poway. It will be taught twice, once in May (sold out) and once in June, on the 19th @ 10:00.
We are using the new paper line "Green @ Heart", by BasicGrey. The four cards are fun and bright, like all the colors of spring....this paper definitely inspired me! The cute little birdcage stamp below is also from BasicGrey, called Aviary (Porcelain). I just love that cute little bird in the birdcage!
This class will use several different punches, including two border punches. One of them is a deep border punch by Martha Stewart, called a Daisy Fan Deep Edger. The other border punch is a scallop by Fiskars. I have also used my slice to cut out several curly labels for the card above and below, using the Noteworthy design card.

MAY CHALLENGE

May's Challenge over at the Cuttlebug blog is all about Moms. I decided to make an accordian tag card that could also work for pictures. I used the Bloom Dots embossing folder to make the tan border you see above. I lightly rubbed a tan ink pad over the face of it and added a little detail with a brown pen to highlight the embossing.
The heart is cut out of cork paper and the die is Quickutz. The trinket leaf pin is Maya Road, and the flower is Prima.
Here I embossed a darker brown strip of paper and lightly rubbed a white ink pad over the face of it to create this effect. The butterfly was cut with a Quickutz die. The decorative paper is "Flutter" from Bo Bunny. The ribbon is Making Memories.
Here is the whole card. The center piece is embossed with the Spots and Dots embossing folder and left plain. The flower and it's center are from Prima. Hope you like, and might be inspired to create something your own mom will love!

April Project-1

Here's some more design inspiration for the Cuttlebug Blog. Our theme for April is Flower Power, and of course I love flowers! Here's what I came up with using the Swiss Dots and Victoria folders. The paper I used was K&Company, Que Sera Sera.
I used the Swiss Dots on the white letters and the small red flower, and the Victoria folder on the orange and purple flowers. This time I chose not to sand the surface...the effect is more subtle, but still so pretty! Check out the other design team inspirations over at the blog....you can click the CBB button on the left, thanks for looking :)

March Project # 1- green

The theme for March is green over at the Cuttlebug Blog. Here is my project # 1.

RECIPE: Cuttlebug embossing folder=Fleur di Lis/ cardstock=Kiwi Kiss, Naturals White(SU!)/ colorcore cardstock=Key Lime(Coredinations)/ stamps=Chairs to You(Flourishes) & sentiment(SU!)/ markers=Copic.

TECHNIQUE: I embossed the color core paper with the Fleur di Lis embossing folder & my Cuttlebug. I then sanded the surface to bring out the green core...the more you sand, the more color will show through! I chose this folder because it reminds me of wallpaper and I thought it would look cute with the chair!
