I have been teaching card classes at my church since late 2006; at Yellowbird Scrapbooking since Jan. 2009; and will be starting at Cool Scrapbook Stuff in March 2010.
Here's another example of dry embossing. The paper I used has a white core, when it is embossed & then sanded, this is the result. I cut the scalloped circles with a Cuttlebug die, then ran them through my machine using the "Swiss Dots" folder.
Here's another way to add texture to a project. I hand-cut the heart and flower, then ran them through my Cuttlebug. I used the folder "Swiss Dots" for the heart and "Spots and Dots" for the flower. I lightly ran a beige ink over the flower to pick up the raised image. Notice the pattern I chose for the flower matches the paper!
This is a card I taught over the summer in my technique class. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder "Bird Call" and sanded the image after I embossed it. The paper I used is a white wash color core by Core'dinations. The more you sand it, the darker the image. I love the subtle finish!
Here's a peek at the upcoming class I will be teaching at Yellowbird. The class is called IN BLOOM & will be four spring inspired cards using the new paper line "Origins" from BasicGrey. The date & time will be posted soon!
The Moxie Fab blog over @ Papercraftsmagazine.com is showcasing fabulous cards ( hence the name, Fab) inside & out. They are asking for creative ideas to draw us inside the card; to find a surprise or just tie the inside to the outside. Here is what I came up with! Hope you like it :) You should definitely check out their website and see all the great ideas!
So I remembered these treat cups I bought from Stampin' Up! a few months ago and decided to bring them out and see what I could make with one. They coordinate exactly with the largest circle punch they sell. I used the new BasicGrey paper line "Origins" ( because I love it!) and put some loose pearls inside the cup before sealing it. I think it's so cute :)
This is another view, underneath the top flap. I used a slim heart punch and outlined it in black. The stamp is from a Hero Arts set & the shiny pink nailhead in the center is also by Mark Richard's.
I thought this would make an adorable gift card holder for Valentine's Day or Mother's Day. Again, I used the paper line Blush from BasicGrey. Oh so sweet! One of my favorite things to add to my projects is bling. The pink gem string is from Mark Richard's.
Happy New Year to all! We will be resuming our card class at church on February 1st. This sweet LOVE card will be my contribution. I used Basic Grey's line from two years ago called "Blush". I love the colors- pink and brown go so well together! The stamp set is from Stampin' Up. Hope to see you there:)
